Mouth breathing is a culprit.
Whenever we see malocclusion in kids, it will never self-corrected unless an intervention. If crossbite is neglected at primary dentition, more severe problems such as facial asymmetry, restricted upper jaw growth, retrusive chin which need more complex treatment and higher cost.
Dr German is a famous dentist specialize in children dentistry. He had shared his 30 years of clinical experience with us how to diagnose and treat the problems accordingly. Not one-size-fit-all treatment with myobrace trainer.
He has combined myobrace trainer and ALF ,BWS and PDT (transverse and vertical development of arch devices) to eliminate interferences and guide craniofacial growth in a correct way.
First thing come first which is correction of bad habits (mouth breathing, low tongue posture, reverse swallow, tongue thrust) and follow by arch development devices (PDT, BWS & PDT) to make enough room for tongue space and guide permanent teeth eruption.
If we wearing trainer at night without lip and tongue exercise and incorrect breathing pattern. If we get to see good result which is called miracle. The effect is not stable.
New habits are hard to form because the behavioural patterns we repeat (old habits) are imprinted in our neural pathways. But it is possible through REPETITION.
Fabiola Nossa is an experience oral facial myologist who works together with Dr German to correct malocclusions in kids. She had sharing her experience with us and teach us some simple oral facial exercise and correct breathing. Hence, oral functions are improved and correct form follow by.
